Multi-channel recording and IP TS encoding system for All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK)

The complex is designed on a basis of five 8-channel servers of SL NEO 6000 series and works in the mode 24/7; its main function is recording of formed on-air programs, including "orbits", with the purpose of their future "quick" mounting, trimming and placing at the web-resources of All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK).

All file recorders receive SD SDI signals that are formed by the VGTRK broadcasting complex, and work in the mode of cyclical recording, with regulated "lifetime" of materials: it helps user to use disk space of the servers efficiently.

The materials become available for mounting and copying directly in the process of recording: the delay of access is not more than 5 seconds.

For export of content from AL NEO 6000 recorders to the VGTRK file server, the instrument Transfer Manager of SL NEO platform is used: it allows forming up to 8 streams of simultaneous copying for every server, with adjustable speed.

Control of every recorder is configured separately and the configuration is possible by several algorithms (templates), for example: "Mon-Fri 6.00 p.m. - 11.00 p.m.", or by more detailed, by the hour/by the minute schedules. You can set individual recording parameters (codec, speed of the stream, algorithms of compression for video and audio) for every channel.

The complex contains the subsystem for coding of the 8 program SDI-signals into the transport streams H.264 IP TS. These streams, in their turn, are sent to the software Wowza Media Server that forms streams for viewing of broadcasting inside the VGTRK corporate network from the mobile devices that use protocols Apple HTTP Live Streaming (HLS), Adobe Flash RTMP etc.

The project is implemented jointly by the companies "System solutions for television" (representative of SkyLark Technology Inc. in Russia) and the company "OKNO-TV", the biggest system integrator in the sphere of TV and radio broadcasting of Russia.
