Processing and Encoding

SL NEO 8000 series multi-screen processors provide a wide range of options for the organization of monitoring systems in hardware, situational, and control centers, as well as in other systems requiring simultaneous display of a large quantity of signals. SL NEO 8000s work with SPTS/MPTS over ASI/IP and Ultra HD/HD/SD signals. Demultiplexers, TS decoders, and a multi-screen processor are combined into a single device. HDMI/SXGA/UXGA/UWXGA signals are generated for the setup of displays; up to 16 display channels are supported with all service indication, audio signal control, and service time systems. Processors are managed locally and remotely through the network. The software package contains an editor, which permits settings for each window’s position and size, channel logo/name, background, and a VU or PPM audio level display. The product is compatible with 16:9 and 4:3 formats, and signal loss indications and reactions to black fields or frozen frames are implemented, as is Tally and warning signal generation. 

SL NEO servers may be equipped with additional HD-SDI or HDMI outputs which can be used for "multi-screen" side-by-side monitoring of all server inputs on a SDI monitor or flat panel with HDI inputs. This technology can be used as an alternative to a set of control monitors when working with the server and allows reducing costs on the server environment: signal distribution and conversion, monitors etc. Multiscreen output supports up to 8 of input server's channels. The output resolution is user defined and can be both SD and HD. Audio mixer allows switching audio output to any of the input audio channels as well as mix a number of selected input channels.

MPEG-2/H.264 coders/decoders.

The SL NEO 9000 Series offer multi-function DVB MPEG-2/MPEG-4 Part 10-H.264/HEVC encoders/decoders that operate in Ultra HD/HD/SD modes and provide high-quality coding. Coders support the processing of incoming analogue (CVBS, YUV), digital (SDI) signals and MPEG TS over ASI/IP. They support ASI or IP (UDP/RTP/RTSP) outputs, depending on the server's configuration.

The SL NEO 9000 series is made on a base of high-performance PC-based platforms with professional input/output cards (DekTec, Matrox, Blackmagic).

Processing power of modern computer systems together with high performance SL NEO Software allows combining in one system up to 12 independent H.264 coders for SD video and up to 6 encoders for HD. Using a single unit for multi-channel encoding allows user to substantially reduce cost per channel. The SL NEO Software allows adding many useful features to a encoding device:

Besides the SL NEO Software, the SL NEO 9000 may have other software installed such as Wowza Media Server or Adobe Media Live Encoder. Integration with third party media encoding and streaming solution allows broadcasting to any kind of internet-enabled devices.
