Dynamic Ad Insertion for True Digital Group with SCTE-35

True Digital provides the largest OTT platform in Thailand. Main live channels are from content aggregators together with live sports events and the content produced by True Visions, the latter part of True Digital Group.
In 2019−2022 SkyLark deployed the complete automation for HD and UHD Program Channels including the capability of switching from multiple IPTS sources, together with the real-time render overlayered localized graphics with Thai characters, DVB-IP subtitles and loudness control.
One important and popular feature of the project is the SCTE-35 markers insertion for third-party distribution platforms. Markers are placed in playlists and processed as secondary events. SkyLark Playout System generates and places SCTE-35 cueing messages in output IP streams. This allows True Digital to monetize and repurpose its content to different platforms and regions without complicating existing operations.
The usage of SCTE-35 for Ad insertion instead of DMTF (audio cue tones) provides further flexibility since in the splice request packets is included the information of the duration of the commercial break, providing redundancy on the splice end requests to go back to the main program content in its absence.
True Digital is leading the IP content distribution in Thailand with the TrueID TV OTT platform and the first implementation of native 4K UHD IPTS programs with SCTE-35 signaling for dynamic Ad insertion.
