SkyLark has introduced an expanded interactive media preview workflow that allows operators to inspect, scrub, and access media directly from lists, browsers, timelines, and other parts of the production interface.
When hovering over a media item, operators can see a preview containing clip information, a thumbnail timeline, and a larger video frame. Moving the mouse across the mini-timeline makes it possible to quickly scrub through the clip without loading it into a monitor first.
The preview can display technical metadata including resolution, frame rate, codec, aspect ratio, audio information, and caption tracks, helping operators identify the correct asset more quickly.
Media preview is available across multiple SkyLark interfaces, including playlist and broadcast lists, Media Bins, the Media Browser, storage browsing, search results, and IRPlay.
Operators can also interact directly with the preview. Depending on the application, clicking or double-clicking a position on the mini-timeline opens the media in the monitor at the selected frame. The preview itself can also be used as a drag source, allowing clips to be dropped directly into playlists, Media Bins, timelines, and other supported destinations.
Monitor timelines have also gained hover-based frame preview, allowing operators to inspect a frame and its timecode without moving the playhead or interrupting playback.
These improvements reduce unnecessary navigation steps and help operators find the right content and the right frame faster across editing, playout, media management, and instant replay workflows.
