SL NEO MEDIA QC

Automated file-based QC
Automatically detects new or modified files
Independent rules for success and failure conditions
From container integrity to loudness compliance
Automated validation for broadcast and OTT media

Overview

SL NEO Media QC is an automated file-based media quality control platform for validating video, audio, subtitles, metadata, and container integrity across broadcast and production workflows. It continuously monitors incoming and existing media and applies configurable technical and compliance checks before content moves further downstream.

The platform can detect video and audio issues, subtitle and ancillary-data problems, format inconsistencies, loudness deviations, freeze or black frames, silence, signal errors, and other technical anomalies. Configurable test profiles allow different validation rules to be applied based on content type, destination, or workflow requirements.

Media QC can operate automatically as part of ingest, transfer, archive, playout, OTT, and VOD workflows. Based on QC results, the system can generate reports, update metadata, move files, quarantine failed content, trigger reprocessing, or route media to predefined destinations.

As part of the SL NEO Media Platform, Media QC integrates with Capture & Ingest, Transfer Manager, iMAM, archive, and playout workflows, providing automated quality assurance across centralized and distributed media environments.

Workflow Actions & Control

Based on results, Media QC can automatically:

▶ Move files to target folders
▶ Rename or tag assets
▶ Generate alerts and notifications
▶ Block or allow downstream processing

Operators can manually:

▶ Review flagged files using desktop or web UI
▶ Jump directly to error timestamps
▶ Inspect detailed QC reports

Integrated Ecosystem

SL NEO Media QC is fully integrated into the SL NEO Media Platform — a modular, software-defined environment where ingest, transfer, media management, archive, and playout modules work together with automated quality-control processes.

Additional modules — including Capture & Ingest, Transfer Manager, iMAM, and the SL NEO Base Module — can be combined to build automated media-validation and content-processing workflows across centralized and distributed environments.

Capture & Ingest
For recording and ingesting live and file-based content into QC workflows
Transfer Manager
For automated media transfer, routing, transcoding, and delivery based on QC results
iMAM
For centralized media asset management, metadata, search, and content access
SL NEO Base Module
For centralized system coordination, management, and control

Use Cases

Pre-Playout Compliance
Validate media before playout to detect technical errors, format inconsistencies, loudness issues, subtitle problems, and other compliance risks.
OTT / VOD QC
Check media prepared for OTT and VOD delivery to ensure required video, audio, subtitle, and container parameters before distribution.
Archive Ingest Validation
Verify incoming media before archive or long-term storage to prevent damaged, incomplete, or non-compliant files from entering the library.
Post-Transcode Gatekeeping
Automatically validate transcoded media before it moves to the next workflow stage, distribution target, or storage destination.
Automated Ingest QC
Run configurable QC checks immediately after ingest and trigger predefined actions based on validation results.
Media Library Verification
Periodically validate stored media to detect technical issues and maintain content integrity across shared media libraries.
