SL NEO Easy Muxer is a software-based MPEG-TS multiplexing and remultiplexing platform for broadcast, IPTV, cable, contribution, and distribution workflows. It combines video, audio, data, and service information from multiple sources into configurable SPTS or MPTS outputs with flexible routing across IP and ASI interfaces.
The platform can receive, filter, remap, pass through, and combine services from multiple MPEG transport streams while preserving compressed content without unnecessary transcoding. Operators can configure programs, PIDs, service information, output bitrate, and destination-specific stream composition from a centralized interface.
Easy Muxer supports hybrid IP and ASI environments, including UDP, RTP, SRT, RIST, and Zixi transport protocols. It can be used for stream aggregation, service selection, regional packaging, contribution and distribution, and event-based multiplex generation. Built-in monitoring, configurable stream processing, and redundancy functions support reliable 24/7 operation.
As part of the SL NEO Media Platform, Easy Muxer integrates with playout, Transport Stream Failover, monitoring, and distribution workflows to build scalable MPEG-TS processing and delivery systems.
Easy Muxer goes beyond simple remultiplexing by enabling broadcast-safe pass-through from IP sources to ASI or satellite transmitters. Many IP transport streams are generated by standard servers, where timing and bitrate are driven by software clocks rather than precise hardware references. When such streams are fed directly into ASI or satellite equipment, timing instability can cause buffer overflows, underflows, and transmission errors.
Easy Muxer automatically stabilizes the stream in real time, regenerating PCR timing and managing stuffing packets to ensure a constant, transmitter-friendly bitrate. This allows IP-generated transport streams to be safely retransmitted over ASI or satellite links without modifications to the source encoder.
The result is a clean, compliant output that bridges IT-based encoding workflows with traditional broadcast transmission infrastructure — reliably and transparently.
Easy Muxer supports statistical multiplexing in conjunction with Playout modules, enabling the generation of MPTS streams with a fixed overall bitrate. This is essential in scenarios with strict output bitrate constraints, such as terrestrial multiplexes or satellite transponders. Available bitrate is dynamically allocated to the services that need it most, while maintaining a constant group bitrate and delivering the best overall picture quality.
SL NEO Easy Muxer is fully integrated into the SL NEO Media Platform — a modular, software-defined environment where ingest, transport-stream processing, playout, monitoring, and distribution modules work together in real time.
Additional modules — including Compressed Video Playout & Recording, Capture & Ingest, Multiscreen, and the SL NEO Base Module — can be combined to build complete MPEG-TS contribution, processing, monitoring, and distribution workflows.
