SL NEO iMAM

Centralized Media Library
Flexible Workflow Automation
Virtual and smart folders
Seamless Integration with SkyLark Newsroom
All your media. One intelligent system.

Overview

SkyLark SL NEO iMAM is a centralized Media Asset Management system designed to control the full lifecycle of media content — from acquisition and processing to storage, reuse, and delivery. It is built on the SkyLark SL NEO Media Platform, providing metadata-driven organization, workflow automation, quality control, versioning, and collaborative access for editorial, technical, and archive teams.
The system enables deterministic, scalable, and secure handling of large media libraries while seamlessly integrating with SkyLark Newsroom, Ingest, Transfer Manager, NewsCut, Playout, Graphics, and external NLE systems.

Workflow

Transfer Manager

It is an automated content synchronization and media transfer system that continuously replicates media files and metadata between servers, manages rule-based import/export and file movement, and performs transcoding and proxy generation to ensure efficient, balanced, and reliable media delivery across production and archive environments.
It works natively with SkyLark iMAM, enabling automated exchange of media and metadata, watch-folder processing, and seamless movement of assets between production and archive storage systems.

Built-In Quality Control

QC is an automated and manual media verification system that checks files against predefined test profiles, generates detailed reports and defect keyframes, and can trigger workflow actions based on results. It integrates with MAM and Transfer Manager to ensure only verified content proceeds through production and archive pipelines.

Media Browser

Built-in media database management interface providing access to content and virtual folders.

File monitor

Frame-accurate content preview (Hi-Res, Proxy, SCTE, CC, ANC, multi-channel audio, external monitor output, marking/segmentation).

NewsCut

NewsCut is an application designed for rapid creation of news stories and programs from source clips stored in the iMAM. The system enables fast selection and assembly of materials, supports editing of clips that are still being recorded, and allows proxy-based editing for improved performance. It also provides EDL preparation for transferring projects to external editing workstations for final post-production.

Web access

Web Access to iMAM provides secure remote browser-based access to media assets, metadata, and virtual folders, enabling different user roles to search, preview, and manage content from any location without any additional software installation.

Integrated Ecosystem

SkyLark iMAM works as the core media repository within the SkyLark Newsroom and SL NEO Media Platform ecosystem, fully interoperating with ingest, playout, and NewsCut. This tight integration ensures consistent metadata, shared storage logic, and seamless transitions between production stages.

Native interoperability between SkyLark components enables a complete end-to-end solution:
