SkyLark has expanded the editing capabilities of NewsCut, introducing a redesigned Effect Editor that provides a more visual and flexible way to work with video effects.
The updated Effect Editor includes a dedicated workspace with video preview, effect cards, and direct access to effect parameters. Editors can apply and adjust effects without leaving the main editing workflow, making content preparation faster and more intuitive.
A key addition is keyframe-based effect animation. Parameters such as Transparency and Blur can now change over time, allowing editors to create dynamic effects directly on the timeline.
The Blur effect has also been extended with support for selected regions of the frame. Instead of blurring the entire image, editors can define a specific area that needs to be obscured. This can be useful when preparing content containing faces, logos, sensitive information, or other visual elements that should not appear in the final output.
Additional improvements provide more precise parameter adjustment, smoother drag control, cleaner undo and redo behavior, and more stable preview handling when clips are edited, trimmed, removed, or reopened.
The enhanced Effect Editor extends NewsCut’s capabilities for fast newsroom and broadcast editing while keeping advanced content preparation within a single workflow.
