AirManager Adds Advanced Timeline-Based Playlist Editing

September 1, 2026

SkyLark has significantly expanded the cast list timeline in AirManager, turning it into a more complete workspace for playlist preparation and on-air operation.

The timeline can now display the entire playlist, regardless of its length, allowing operators to navigate and work with both completed and upcoming items directly from the graphical timeline.

Playlist transitions are represented in the timeline and can be previewed in the File Monitor, helping operators evaluate how consecutive items will appear on air. The monitor now works with a dynamic section of the playlist around the current item, allowing operators to move through long playlists without repeatedly reloading the complete rundown.

Editing is also available directly from the timeline. Operators can trim or extend playlist items from the File Monitor, move items using drag-and-drop, and access the same item editing commands available in the traditional playlist view.

A major addition is support for secondary event tracks. Graphics events can be displayed on dedicated layers above the playlist, making their timing and relationship to the primary content immediately visible. Selected graphics layers can also be included in the File Monitor preview, allowing operators to review a playlist together with its scheduled graphics before transmission.

Secondary events can be created and edited directly on the timeline, including by dropping media onto the required graphics track.

Together, these improvements allow operators to perform more playlist preparation and verification visually, reducing the need to switch constantly between playlist rows, secondary event lists, and preview windows.
