SkyLark has expanded the avweb platform with new interfaces designed for server-side and non-browser integrations.
In addition to the existing browser-based framework, avweb functionality can now be accessed through a REST API and a WebSocket JSON-RPC gateway. This allows external applications and services to interact directly with SkyLark without requiring a browser-based user interface.
The new interfaces provide access to key operations including storage discovery, authentication, media information, folder and asset listing, Media Bins, search, users and groups, as well as graphics control functions.
This opens avweb to a wider range of integration scenarios using technologies such as Python, Node. js, C++, PowerShell, and other systems capable of working with REST or WebSocket APIs.
REST and WebSocket sessions can also be monitored from the NeoVid Control Panel alongside browser-based avweb sessions, giving administrators visibility into connected clients and allowing active sessions to be terminated when required.
The new APIs make it easier for broadcasters and system integrators to connect SkyLark media and graphics functionality with newsroom systems, automation platforms, custom applications, and third-party services.
