SkyLark Software Release 2.12.19.100 Is Now Available

June 23, 2026

SkyLark announces the release of software version 2.12.19.100, bringing a wide range of improvements across media editing, transfer workflows, Avid Interplay integration, P2 media handling, instant replay operation, web-based integrations, and system reliability.

This update focuses on making daily broadcast and newsroom operations faster, more flexible, and more reliable — from ingest and media preparation to editing, playout, replay, and third-party web integration.

Enhanced Newscut Editing Workflow

Newscut receives major improvements with the updated Effect Editor. Operators and editors can now work with video effects in a more visual and intuitive way, using a dedicated panel with preview, effect cards, and direct parameter editing.

The release adds support for keyframe-based effect animation, including animated Transparency and Blur. Blur can now be applied not only to the full frame, but also to a selected region, making it easier to hide sensitive content, faces, logos, or unwanted areas directly in the editing workflow.

Additional improvements make parameter editing smoother and more precise, with better drag control, cleaner undo/redo behavior, and more stable preview handling when clips are changed, trimmed, deleted, or reopened.

Cleaner Audio at Edits and Transitions

Version 2.12.19.100 improves audio processing at clip cuts, joins, and timeline edges. Audio now plays more smoothly across cuts, while transitions between different clips or volume levels are automatically cross-faded to help remove clicks and abrupt level changes.

This enhancement improves the quality of editing preview, playout, and export, especially in fast-paced newsroom and production environments where content is frequently trimmed and assembled under time pressure.

Improved P2 Media Handling

The release introduces a new P2 Combined Card storage type. A full P2 card can now be represented as a single combined asset, with all clips joined in card order. This simplifies working with camera cards and makes media import more convenient for production and newsroom teams.

P2 card discovery has also been optimized to avoid duplicated card listings, reduce unnecessary deep folder scanning, and improve navigation when cards are stored in subfolders.

Stronger Avid and Interplay Integration

SkyLark 2.12.19.100 improves Avid Interplay workflows, especially in multi-volume environments. Interplay storage can now work with multiple media volumes, allowing systems to correctly access media spread across several Avid workspaces.

Users can also select a target output volume when rendering or transferring media to supported storages. This gives operators better control over where media is written in complex production infrastructures.

Additional fixes improve Avid Interplay egress workflows, Unicode file handling for Avid OP-Atom MXF files on Windows, and source resolution behavior for P2, Avid, and Interplay media.

Transfer Manager Diagnostics and Reliability

Transfer Manager now includes an admin-controlled debug logging option. Support teams can enable detailed logging when diagnosing a transfer issue and disable it again without restarting the system.

Media conversion has also been improved: audio is now correctly resampled to the target rate during conversion, helping prevent duration and pitch problems caused by mismatched sample rates.

More Flexible Instant Replay Operation

The Instant Replay control panel has been updated with per-window settings for LCD readout size and playlist button style. Operators can choose between different display sizes and button modes to better match their screen layout and working preferences.

Playlist operation has also been extended with multi-select support, insert and append functions, and the ability to save selected playlist items. These improvements make replay workflows faster and more comfortable during live production.

More Compact and Adaptable User Interfaces

Many SkyLark application windows can now be resized to much smaller dimensions. Toolbars, control rows, readouts, and status lines reflow automatically, allowing operators to build more compact screen layouts and fit more tools on the same workstation display.

This is especially useful in production control rooms, replay areas, ingest stations, and monitoring environments where multiple windows are used simultaneously.

New Web Integration Framework

This release includes the first public release of avweb, a new framework for embedding SkyLark functionality into third-party web pages.

The framework provides ready-to-use web widgets for login, media browsing, video playback, graphics control, and direct JavaScript access to storage services. It allows broadcasters, system integrators, and media organizations to build custom browser-based workflows while using SkyLark backend services.

A new Web Apps management section in neovid provides centralized control over sessions, access policies, available storages, graphics services, licensing, and active web sessions.

Improved Authentication and System Stability

For systems using LDAP authentication, the new offline cache option helps keep already authenticated users logged in when the LDAP server is temporarily unavailable. This helps avoid workflow interruptions during directory service outages.

The release also includes fixes and hardening across media parsing, storage access, H.264 processing, LDAP sessions, timeline timecode handling, and program output behavior.
