NewsCut expands audio production with per-track stereo balance, output routing, compressor and equalizer effects available in preview, playout and export.
Short Description:
NewsCut expands its audio toolset with stereo balance, flexible output routing, a tube-modelled compressor, and parametric and 10-band equalizers.
Main Description:
SkyLark has expanded the audio production capabilities in NewsCut, adding new track-level routing controls and a dedicated set of audio effects.
Each track in the Audio Mixer now includes a stereo balance control, allowing operators to position the track between output channels 1 and 2 directly from the mixer.
For more advanced configurations, a new Routing control opens the full output routing matrix. This allows individual input channels to be assigned and mixed to specific outputs with independent levels, supporting workflows that go beyond conventional stereo balance.
The track meters follow the configured routing, providing a direct indication of what each track contributes to the final output.
NewsCut also introduces its first dedicated audio effects in the Effect Browser:
- Tube-Modelled Compressor with threshold, ratio, attack, release, output gain, and valve-style saturation
- Parametric Equalizer with high-pass, low shelf, two adjustable peaking bands, high shelf, and output gain
- 10-Band Equalizer covering standard octave-band frequencies from 31 Hz to 16 kHz
Audio effects can be applied directly to clips and are heard consistently in the Effect Editor preview, timeline playback, final playout, and export.
The Effect Editor automatically switches to a processed waveform view for audio clips, making it possible to compare the processed signal with the original source. Equalizer effects also display their frequency response graphically while parameters are adjusted.
Stereo balance, routing, and audio effects are stored with the project and carried through the complete NewsCut workflow, providing editors with more control over audio finishing without requiring a separate application.
