SkyLark Expands Avid Interplay Integration with Sequence Transfers

August 28, 2026

SkyLark has further expanded its integration with Avid Interplay by adding support for transferring edited sequences from Avid production environments.

In addition to master clips, SkyLark can now process a sequence created and checked into Interplay from Avid Media Composer and transfer it as the edited programme rather than as an individual source asset.

During transfer, the sequence’s video segments are followed in timeline order across the referenced master clips. Audio tracks are processed as output channels, including the constant per-clip audio gain defined during editing.

The workflow also handles unavailable media gracefully. If a referenced video segment cannot be located on the configured Avid workspaces, the missing section is represented as black, while unavailable audio is replaced with silence. The transferred asset retains the sequence duration.

This enhancement extends the role of Avid Interplay within SkyLark workflows beyond individual asset exchange, making it easier to move completed or partially prepared editorial sequences into downstream processing, transfer, and broadcast workflows.

The current sequence transfer workflow focuses on timeline cuts and per-clip audio levels; video effects and transitions from the Avid sequence are not rendered during transfer.
